Let me start by being honest: I've been really looking forward to writing this post for longer than I'd like to admit. The reason you should apply beard oil right after a shower is a beautifully complex physics problem that highlights the utter simplicity of nature. Like all natural science, it boils down to a complex simplicity, and I love it.
Beard oil is a mix of carrier and essential oils. It is intended to keep the skin beneath your facial hair healthy, which in-turn keeps your facial hair healthy. Yes, facial hair. Beard oil is not specific to beards, it can be used on any type of hair—some friends of The Bearded Savant even use our products on their scalp and as a (gasp!) deodorant in the underarm.

I wish the title of this post were not true, but it is, at least for me. Here in Central Texas as the seasons change from spring into summer (hot to hotter) the skin beneath my beard starts to change. As the air gets warmer and the humidity rises, my beard gets itchy.
